Sportsbook Poker got its start in 1996. All though Sports book just recently launched their poker room. It is a growing site which is a part of the Cake Poker Network. They joined the network in 2006 and share each other’s players. It offers its customers a wide variety of poker games with a wide variety of tournaments. Its main focus of traffic is from Texas Holdem. Traffic at the site is generally lower than other well known poker rooms. Surprisingly it only welcomes U.S players, which is part of the reason for the lower traffic. Expect to find loose players at this site especially in the tournaments. The software on this site is pretty basic, but functions well.

Software
Sportsbook Poker’s software is not anything special but gets the job done at a good pace with little glitches. The game speed is the most impressive here at full 10 handed ring games an amazing 70 hands an hour. The software is regularly updated with little to no downtime. You can choose your own avatars, customize the lobby for your choice game, view hand history, and save your hands on an updating text file on your computer. The best feature the software offers in my opinion are the in table stats which provide you with flop percentages and average pot sizes. Multi table play is another plus. Some low points on this site are there is virtually no way for Mac owners to play at Sportsbook Poker. Another downfall is there are no resizable table options available. It does get the job done, but the software package is nothing special compared to many other great software packages.

In the tournament department Sportsbook Poker offers a little bit of everything for everyone. There tournaments are probably the best thing on this site. While it is considered to be one of the lower traffic sites, volume continues to grow daily with real-money player statistics of 1,700 ring-game players and 6,000 tournament players during peak times.

Competition
The competition at Sportsbook Poker is definitely loose. There are nothing but passive players filling this site. The competition is especially loose in the lower stake games. My advice is to play tight sit back and watch the money fall into your lap. Bad beats will happen but in the long run if your any good at all you will come out on top.
